Yeh Jawaani Hain Deewani – FIRST LOOK

“It’s a Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge-meets-Hum Aapke Hai Kaun-meets-Wake Up Sid-meets-West Side Story “ : Ranbir Kapoor

The first look of the much anticipated “Yeh Jawaani Hain Deewani” is finally out. Fastening a rather predictable tagline “Celebrate Love”, Karan Johar posted the pictures on twitter last night. I got my hands on 2 different posters with a rather dissimilar feel. Apart from the main leads, the only thing common between the 2 posters is the unquestionable overall vibe of festivity, fun and celebration.  (Check out the 2nd poster below)

Yeh Jawaani Hain Deewani” is directed by Ayan Mukerji, who had earlier directed the much acclaimed, “Wake Up Sid“. YJHD is also co-jointly produced by UTV motion pictures and Dharma Productions. (explains why Ranbir and Deepika are both obviously wearing Manish Malhotra in the above poster!).

Rumours were doing rounds that Deepika might be playing a geeky girl in the film and later transforming into a hot diva! Well, I am praying hard that it will not be a very typical hot guy-nerdy girl love story, fall in love, separate, get back together kind of thing. Love stories, these days, all tend to follow this humdrum path. Let’s just hope Ayan’s treatment is as good as Wake Up Sid!

On another note, I am really happy to see that after the taxing “Rockstar” and challenging “Barfi”, Ranbir Kapoor is finally returning to something a little more “light and breezy”! Kudos to him for choosing different films each time!

Taking a cue from the title, enjoy two of my favourite songs below from the original “Jawani Deewani” !
