For this season’s Lakme Fashion Week Festive/Resort 2016, I was invited to attend the Rajesh Pratap Singh show sponsored by Reliance Trends. The show was all about celebrating ‘ Trendsetters ’ – people who have made a mark in their respective fields, the ones who have set trends and shown the world to live life on their own terms. Quite a bold concept and an even bolder presentation, check it out!
The stage was set with stacks of books on the runway and models had to walk in an almost zigzag manner. Rajesh Pratap Singh took inspiration from the 60s ‘school girl uniform’ & that time in India, majorly it was the Punjabi suit. Reinventing the traditional outfit, Rajesh Pratap Singh showcased garments in soothing hues, creatively crafted with paper, silk and cotton. There was also a pinch of metallic in some of the suits & overall, it was a visual delight! India’s first female racing champion, Alisha Abdullah, supermodel Ujjwala Raut and actor Jacqueline Fernandes set the ramp on fire in some stunning creations. Also, the highlight of the evening & the grand surprise which I was talking about throughout the last few days, was the unveiling of Reliance Trends’ new identity. Yes!! Reliance Trends is now ” Trends ” ; Many many congratulations to the brand and here’s to setting more trends in the near future.
Inspired by the whole bold theme of ‘trends’ and ‘trendsetters’, I decided to go absolute street-style with my outfit for the show. I picked up this look from the new Trends autumn/winter collection. I chose this cute blue top & a blue denim jacket. Blue on blue is a risky combination but I’ve always wanted to try a colour-on-colour mix. It’s all about taking risks & setting trends anyway.
Ripped leggings, high heels, a silver cuff, ear hoops, some rings and a dash of red lipstick completed my bold, biker chic look. To be honest, I was absolutely spoiled for choice when I had gone shopping. There were just so many interesting clothes that I think I must go back again to their Infinity Malad store to pick up something amazing for myself soon. Join me this time! 🙂
