It has been a mixed year so far for Bollywood with few blockbusters and many disasters. Now here comes yet another romantic comedy ‘Hum Hai Raahi Car Ke’, which grabbed some amount of attention due to its title’s resemblance with Aamir Khan’s classic ‘Hum Hai Raahi Pyaar Ke’. Let us see if movie is at least half as good as Aamir’s classic.

HHRCK is a hum hain rahi car keromantic comedy that revolves around 2 best friends Dev Goel and Adah Sharma. On the New Year’s Eve, both of them think of doing something adventurous and as a result, they plan a trip to Goa in the car. The trip, that is supposed to be 2 hours long, turns out to be an overnight adventure due to some unexpected events.

Movie starts off with few laughs and then becomes a car journey. Journey starts off well, with some funny moments but then gradually becomes boring. 1st half does not leave any sort of impression on viewers whatsoever. I saw some people walk out of the theatre which was already vacuous. Movie already goes beyond repair after the 1st half while 2nd half just adds on more pain on the suffering audience. This romantic comedy lacks on screen chemistry of lead actors, comedy is lame and the way director showcased some bizarre incidents, is absolutely hopeless.  Other actors like Sanjay Dutt and Juhi Chawla don’t have any substantial part to play and moreover their brief appearences annoy us big time.

If we talk about the technical aspects, then the movie has nothing extraordinary to talk about. Music is exasperating, camera work is naïve and special effects are pathetic. Movie is made of low budget and that ideally shows on the screen.

On the whole, Hum Hai Raahi Car Ke is not even worth a one time watch. It seriously tests the patience of the audience for most of the time. The movie will disappear within a week without any trace.

Rating : 1.5/5
